A34 Stratford Road has re-opened

We have received confirmation that the A34 has now reopened for normal traffic.

Update @15:00 Saturday 23rd October

We are advised that this A34 road closure will continue through the rest of this afternoon and into Saturday evening.  Current estimation on lifting the closure is now towards midnight Saturday. 

Update @ 15:17 Friday 22nd October

The road closure on the A38 Stratford Road will continue throughout the remainder of today and is not expected to re-open until the afternoon of Saturday 23rd October.

Update @ 21:12  Thursday 21st October

The Birmingham Resilience Team have been advised that the road closure on the A34 Stratford Road will continue into the morning rush hour on Friday 22nd October.  This is to allow emergency work to continue on the carriageway.  The work is expected to be completed on Friday afternoon.

BRT has been advised that due to subsidence on the A34 Stratford Road between Formans Road and Nansen Road, the following Road closures and diversions are in place.  The A34 is closed between Formans and Nansen Road.  Strategic diversions for non local traffic are Fox Hollies Road and the Warwick Road (A41). For local traffic towards the city use College Road, Woodlands Road and Showell Green Lane. For local traffic away from the city use Formans Road, Reddings Lane and Shaftmoor Lane.  There is currently no estimated time for repair completion and lifting the closures, so travellers are advised to take account of this information when planning journeys into the area this afternoon and this evening.
