Aston Firearms Incident

Update at 1410

Police have confirmed that they have apprehended the man involved in the firearms incident at Tesco. The police state that the road closures will be lifted and the area will return to normal within the next couple of hours.

Police are still dealing with the incident. We’ve been advised that the road closures are expected to remain for some time.

Police  firearms officers are responding to an incident at the TESCO supermarket Aston.

Roads around the area are closed and the store has been evacuated.

No injuries have been reported, traffic diversions are in place and members of the public are advised to avoid the area.

Roads affected are Aston Lane, Wenlock Road, Witton Road and Emscote Road.

A further update will be issued should the situation change.
