Driving warning for today
Hazardous driving conditions are predicted this afternoon and early evening (Thursday 16th December 2010), due to freezing temperatures immediately following heavy rain.
Gritting operations are planned but given the exceptional circumstances there is the potential for ice, even on treated roads.
Drivers are advised to take extra precautions and ensure they are fully prepared before making a journey, consider staggering journeys or other means of travel. If possible only essential car journeys should be made during this period.
