Thursday update on situation in Birmingham

There are no issues in any parts of Birmingham this evening, with the city remaining calm with communities going about their business as usual. 

There are no road closures affecting the City Centre, and all forms of public transport are operating as normal, including trains and buses.

A large police presence will be maintained this evening to prevent any repetition of the disorder and to reassure businesses, visitors and residents.

Birmingham City Centre is open for business as usual today.  We are very pleased to report that there was no disorder last night in the City.

All forms of public transport and roads are running as normal.

Wednesday evening (10 August) has passed peacefully with no further outbreaks of disorder.  All roads into the City Centre are open and public transport will be operating as normal today.
