Warehouse Fire – 415 Stratford Road

West Midlands Fire Service and Police worked closely with partners including Birmingham City Council and Utility Companies to ensure that local residents  were not adversely affected by the major fire that ravaged a clothing and textile factory at 415 Stratford Road.   The building has now been demolised and fenced off to ensure public safety.

Approximatley 100 homes in Fulham Road were without gas and electricity during the afternoon and early evening but this was resolved at 20:10hours.

All road barriers were removed at 01:33hrs this morning.

Update @ 15:00 hrs

West Midlands Fire Service are still dealing with major fire incident at a textile and fabric factory.  West Midlands Police are requesting that the Stratford Road to be closed from the junction of St Johns Road and Durham Road and the junction of Stratford Road where it meets the Warwick Road.  Traffic will be diverted down the Warwick Road.

This specific road closure is likely to be in place during the evening rush hour traffic period and will remain in place during the night.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area.  Public transport is continuing as normal but with diversions in place and delays.

West Midlands Fire Service still dealing with major fire incident  at a textile and fabric factory 415 Stratford Road.   A number of  roads have been closed by West Midlands Police and these include: Stratford Road junction of Warwick Road and St Johns Road, Warwick Road and Golden Hillock Road and the junction of f  the island at Golden Hillock Road.   Motorists to avoid the area if possible.   Local businesses and residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed.
