Birmingham will be filled with a sea of red and gold on Sunday 29 January as Chinese New Year welcomes the Year of the Dragon with an afternoon of free entertainment at the Arcadian Centre. Dragon dances, acrobatic performances and Kung Fu demonstrations are just some of the cultural entertainment that will be on offer.
Programme of events on the main stage in the Arcadian Centre:

Birmingham Mind have organised a Community Information Afternoon, they will be providing information about services provided and how people can volunteer. There will be advice from Health Trainers about healthy living and keeping fit as well as financial advice and adult education.

New Bingley Hall – 1 Hockley Circus
Diwali is one of the biggest events in the Indian calendar. The true spirit of Diwali is to bring different communities together so that new relationships may be born.
This year, the celebrations will take place in the New Bingley Hall in Hockley. The Hindu Council of Birmingham, with the support of Birmingham City Council, will be hosting the celebrations.
