International Women’s Day takes place in March, each year and is celebrated around the world to mark women’s struggle for equal rights, justice, peace and progress. The theme for the International Women’s Day event is Celebrating the past, planning our future. The Kingsway Project is organising this event which will celebrate the 100th celebration of International Women’s Day. It will mark the economic, political and social achievements of women globally and in the local area. It is a time to celebrate the different cultural expressions that links generations. We recognise with support, enhanced skills, services and self-confidence women and girls across all levels of society women will be able to take greater control of their lives. We want women to thrive, to give succeeding generations a better start in life.
