The annual Lord Mayor’s Family Show takes place on Bank Holiday Monday and the theme this year is “Past, Present and Future”. A highlight of Birmingham’s civic calendar, it provides the chance to meet this year’s new Lord Mayor, Cllr Len Gregory, and bid a fond farewell to Cllr Michael Wilkes. As well as raising money for the Lord Mayor’s Charities, the event is a great day out for the whole family.

Entertainment for all ages

This year, the show will offer entertainment for all ages including live musical performances on the main stage on Victoria Square, with local singers, dance performances and children’s entertainment.

Other attractions and activities include children’s fairground rides, face painting, craft stalls and activities and displays by the West Midlands Fire Service and the Army. There will also be refreshments on sale and even the chance to have tea with the Lord Mayor.

The Birmingham Resilience Team will also be on hand giving advice on being more prepared for emergencies as well as a chance to sign up for Birmingham Community Alert.
