Birmingham Central Library closing 29 June

At 5pm on 29 June services at the current Central Library will close forever. From then until the opening of the Library of Birmingham on Tuesday 3 September, only Reception, Tourist Information and the Rep’s Box Office will be open at Central Library. During this period opening hours at Birmingham’s community libraries which are closest to the City Centre will be extended: Erdington; Handsworth; Spring Hill; and Ward End.  

The move to the new Library of Birmingham will involve 66,000 crates containing books, archives, photography and rare books.
