Birmingham Resilience Champion awarded OBE

Mrs Satinder Kaur Taunque,  Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands has been awarded the Order of the British Empire, OBE, in  HRH The Queen’s 2013 Birthday Honours list. Satinder Taunque has been awarded the OBE for voluntary and charitable services to Inter-Ethnic relations and to the community in the West Midlands.

 Satinder has engaged  in a wide range of professional, social, cultural, educational, health and religious activities and voluntary services to the community since coming to the UK in 1969.

 Satinder’s contribution to inter-community integration and cohesion has been tremendous.

Satinder is actively involved in many voluntary activities and is a volunteer chaplain for the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. She is also a Resilience Champion working voluntarily with Birmingham Resilience Team as well as a large number of other community and civic organisations.

She has also won many other awards in recognition of her outstanding contribution and selfless community work.

Congratulations to Satinder and her family on another great achievement.
