Heart of Birmingham Oscars Awards

HOB oscars 2014Bidgley Power Foundation organised the 2nd Heart of Birmingham Oscars Awards on the 16th of October 2014 at The Pavilion, Perry Barr Birmingham. This was a special awards night organised for people from Aston and the surrounding areas. Local people were nominated and voted for up to 20 categories of awards including; best neighbour, best carer, community champion, community group, senior citizen etc. In all well over 1200 votes were cast at voting boxes placed in local shops throughout Aston.

A gala awards evening took place with nearly 250 people attending, including The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Shafique Shah,  entertainment was provided from famous local artists Khiza and Soni-J, music and dance by Steps 8,  beautiful fashion show presented by Zarissa and a buffet meal. The winners of the HOB Oscars received their awards from a number of guest presenters including Cllr Waseem Zafar, Kabir Ali Lancashire County Cricket Club, Ravi Masih from Aston Villa FC and other distinguished guests.

Congratulations to all the winners all very well deserved, in particular Veronica Coleman former Principal Emergency Planning Officer from the Birmingham Resilience Team.
