West Midlands Police have released the following statement:

Missing schoolboy Jahavrie McLenan has been found safe and well and is now home with his family.

We would like to thank the public and the media for their support in locating Jahavrie.

25th October 2012 6pm

POLICE are appealing for help to trace a 9-year-old boy who went missing from his Aston home earlier today.
Jahavrie McLenan ran away from his home on Yew Tree Road following a family argument just after 1.30pm.
The lad is described as black, with short dark hair and was last seen wearing a light blue denim jacket, white T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms with a red stripe and white trainers. He was also carrying a rucksack.
He is known to frequent the Trinity play area and was last seen heading towards Birmingham City Centre.
Inspector Mark Colwell, said: “Due to the lad’s young age we are very concerned for his welfare and we want to hear from anyone who might have seen anyone matching his description.
“His family are very concerned and want him to come home.
“We urge people in the area to keep an eye out for a young lad who is likely to be unaccompanied.
“We have extra officers out in the area all searching for him.”
Police are currently searching for the youngster and are appealing for any sightings to be reported straight away by calling 101.
