Working together for a resilient Birmingham.

Project Ripple – businesses affected by flooding

Project Ripple is an initiative for businesses to explore their business continuity arrangements and considerations in the event of a flooding scenario. The event will also provide an opportunity for businesses to gain an understanding of emergency responders and professional partners involvement prior to, during and after a flood event.  Too often we only consider flooding caused by heavy rainfall that fills rivers and streams above their normal capacity, but floods can happen anywhere at anytime, caused by rising ground water levels, burst water drains, hillside run-off from sudden rain and more. That is why this event is available to all businesses, rather than solely those located in Environment Agency indicative flood plains.

Project Ripple is a completely free half-day event which will take place at the Council House, Victoria Square, on Thursday 12 November, 9:15am.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  This table top exercise will take representatives through a realistic flooding scenario impacting on the Birmingham area. This event is designed for business owners, managers, and those involved in facilities management. Places are limited to two per organisation and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.   All delegates  will receive confirmation of their booking.

We look forward to welcoming you to our event.
