Support service for individuals affected by disorder

Following the disturbances in Birmingham City Centre and other areas recently, Birmingham City Council’s Crisis Support Team is able to provide a support service to staff who work in the shops and restaurants targeted, or residents of affected areas who may have been affected by the disorder.

Whatever the nature of the traumatic event, most people will experience extreme reactions. Crisis aftercare is about stopping normal reactions becoming problems.

The Crisis Support Team members are staff from The Adults & Communities Directorate, Birmingham City Council. They are specially trained and available to be called upon to offer immediate, short-term practical and emotional support to those affected by an emergency.
