Visit of Jiangsu Provincial Officials

Birmingham Resilience Team recently co-hosted a Chinese Delegation visit at West Midlands Fire Service headquarters. The event was organised by Michael Loftus, News From The Future Ltd and is one of series of meetings organised for Chinese state, municipal and provincial officials visiting the United Kingdom. West Midlands Fire Service colleagues, Martin Ward-White and Will Doolan, presented on the WMFS implementation of  the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) statutory duties. Mariola Smallman and Melanie Dinnis presentation focused on Birmingham City Council’s CCA role and responsibilities and two case studies; swine flu and flooding. The event was an opportunity to share our multi agency approach to emergency planning and response with international colleagues.
