Vulnerability Self Assessment Tool for Businesses

The Vulnerability Self Assessment Tool (VSAT), which has been developed in partnership with leading businesses across the UK, will assist owners, operators and those responsible for security to determine their vulnerability to attack.

The self assessment consists of 32 questions and should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. It will provide you with an understanding of what you need to put in place to reduce your vulnerability to terrorist attack. The online assessment will also produce a report of recommendations. In order to protect your business interest and commercial sensitivities the report will only be available to the individual user (within the VSAT data is protected to the same standards as those used in online banking applications). The results will be graphically displayed in five easy to view sectors plus an overall aggregated score. The colour coded graphs enable you to rapidly identify where you need to prioritise your improvements.

In order to protect your commercial sensitivities, only you as the user can access your results.

The VSAT will provide you with:

•Sign posting to best practice
•12 months Business Continuity Management tool
•Increased local engagement with security experts (CTSA)
•Training Opportunities
•Written assessment report with recommendations covering, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Information Security, Good House Keeping and Risk Management

VSAT will provide a means for you to identify and reduce the vulnerability to your establishment. It helps protect our communities and is available free of charge to all users. The Vulnerability Self-Assessment Tool (VSAT) is available at  http://www.nactso.gov.uk/our-services
