Met Office – Yellow Warning of Rain

A Met Office Yellow Warning of Rain has been issued (Issued at:  1122hrs on Thurs 13 Feb 2014) for Friday and Saturday which covers a number of areas including the West Midlands.

Valid from – 14 Feb 2014, 04:00hrs
Valid to – 15 Feb 2014, 06:00 hrs

A new area of rain will arrive in southwest England during the early hours of Friday, moving quickly northeastwards and affecting many parts of the UK. Following this rain, areas of organised showers will move across Wales and the south of England, adding to the rainfall accumulations. With very wet ground conditions in Wales and the south of England and following repeated heavy rainfall events earlier in the week, the public should be aware of the potential for further flooding in places. The rain will clear away from these most sensitive areas early Saturday morning.

The impacts from this rainfall may continue on some rivers on subsequent days and further information may be found by visiting the Environment Agency website or by calling the Environment Agency Floodline.

A new area of rain will push into the UK from the southwest on Friday morning, moving quickly northeastwards and affecting many parts of England and Wales. Following this rain areas of organised showers will push across Wales and the south of England, adding to the rainfall accumulations.
