Icy conditions

Met Office forecast:

General Situation: Remaining cold across England through this week. Icy conditions are expected to be widespread with some freezing fog also likely to become more prevalent, especially later in the week.

Gritting continues on priority routes – traffic on main roads is moving steadily. The www.birmingham.gov.uk website has details of winter maintenance, including gritting routes and grit bins.

Public transport is operating but there may be some diversions, delays and/or cancellations.

The advice is to listen to local radio / check websites / social media and plan your journey accordingly.

Monday to Friday – Any school closures will be widely reported via all usual mechanisms (radio stations, BCC website (http://disruption.birmingham.gov.uk/) , individual school messaging systems, etc).
